Position Overview The Lower School Associate Teacher is a hybrid role that combines classroom support responsibilities with direct small group instruction in Structured Literacy and Math for students in grades 1-5. This position uses a gradual release model during the first semester, with ongoing support from instructional coaches and Division Director. When not providing small group instruction, the Associate Teacher works in collaboration with classroom teachers to support students throughout the school day. Primary Responsibilities Small Group Instruction ? Provide direct, differentiated instruction in structured literacy and math to small groups of students ? Create engaging learning experiences where students are actively involved in meaningful work ? Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and needs ? Collect data and monitor student progress regularly ? Maintain effective and efficient documentation of student growth ? Communicate student progress with classroom teachers to ensure coordinated support Classroom and Student Support ? Assist in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where children can develop their full potential ? Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, recess, and lunch ?
