Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated and professional Communications Technician II who can create, develop, and implement project process improvements. The ideal candidate should possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capability to effectively read, write, and deliver oral presentations. This role requires the ability to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces, while lifting and moving equipment. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field, and demonstrate the ability to supervise others effectively.
ResponsibilitiesPerform technical responsibilities of a Cable Installer and function as a lead member of a technical team.Coordinate small groups of installers and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and walls; terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks.Mount faceplates and surface mount boxes correctly.Build closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware.Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.Complete IDC connections, including terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels.Perform testing, troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs using a tone set.Identify active voice or data circuits.Assume responsibility for crew performance, provide necessary training, and coordinate personnel and timeline for project completion.Adhere to and participate in all quality and safety standards and regulations.Complete other responsibilities as assigned.Promote company culture and act as a liaison for interface with customer representatives.Essential SkillsProven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.Knowledge of universal communications color codes.Ability to pull cable through pathways, terminate, and test copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6).Experience in building out IDF closets from start to finish.Strong ability in cable pulling (fiber and Cat6) and installing pathways.Additional Skills & QualificationsBICSI Certification.OSHA/Lift Certification.Datacenter experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
You will work in new construction settings indoors without HVAC. Expect 50-60 hour work weeks, with some Saturdays required. Projects will take place in commercial office buildings, bank call centers, parking garages, and veterinarian clinics in various locations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
