Low Voltage Installer
Job Title: Low Voltage InstallerJob Description

The role involves comprehensive responsibilities related to Fiber installation, including but not limited to installing, terminating, testing, and splicing. The installer must have basic copper termination skills and will be responsible for installing work area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and walls. This includes terminating CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mounting faceplates, and installing surface mount boxes. The role also involves building closets, mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optics, and hardware. Additionally, installers will be required to install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables as needed and complete all IDC connections.

ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, test, and splice fiber.Install work area outlets, terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mount faceplates, and surface mount boxes.Build closets, mount and install backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, and hardware.Perform testing and continuity tests on horizontal and riser cables using a volt-ohmmeter.Troubleshoot issues such as opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on cables.Install various types of connectors including LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP for both multi-mode & single-mode fiber.Terminate and breakout outside plant (loose tube) and indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber.Install fan-out kits including buffer tubes and calculate end-to-end loss budgets in accordance with TIA/EIA standards.Use an OTDR to identify and correct problems.Perform mechanical and fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable.Conduct building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried operations.Essential SkillsFiber optic cabling experience.Ability to install cable trays, pull cables, and perform termination and testing on copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6).Experience with OSP (Outside Plant) and confined spaces.Ability to assemble racks and install j-hooks and ladder racks.Proficient in utilizing hand & power tools.Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 10 certification.Confined space training/certification.Scissor lift certification.BICSI certification is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position is based at a large data center located in Arizona. All work is conducted outdoors, requiring adaptability to cold winters and hot summers. Safety is paramount, with strict adherence to protocols and minimal tolerance for cutting corners. The environment is closely monitored, ensuring high standards of safety and professionalism.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
