Logistics Supervisor
**Job Title: Logistics Supervisor** **Job Description** The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading shifts of the Auto Train team to efficiently complete the daily loading and unloading of vehicles from carriers. This role involves maintaining accurate loading records and directing traffic onto carriers, ensuring the safe inspection of loaded carriers. **Responsibilities** + Serve as the primary contact for the client during assigned shifts and coordinate adjustments to meet client needs. + Lead the team during shifts to operate efficiently by adjusting staffing levels according to volume needs while maintaining excellent customer service. + Monitor operations to ensure staff comply with safety rules and promote safe work activities. + Supervise employee performance, providing immediate coaching to ensure adherence to daily routines. + Assist with new hire training and ensure compliance with policies and procedures when assigned. + Submit daily reports of loading records, inventory, and staffing as directed. + Ensure all employees perform to required operational standards. + Maintain constant interaction with management and clients. + Wear and utilize required protective equipment while working. + Take responsibility for personal safety and promote safety focus among the team. + Travel periodically, up to 25% or as directed by management. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Valid driver's license. + High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred. + At least one year of transportation industry experience required; supervisory experience preferred. + Strong communication, analytical, and persuasive skills. + Ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees, and leadership. + Multi-tasking abilities with strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + Working knowledge of FRA regulations, OSHA standards, DOT standards, and other regulatory standards. + Understanding of equipment capabilities and job requirements. + Ability to work in various environments, including hazardous conditions, and lift or exert force exceeding 50 lbs. + Appropriate licenses and certifications. + Ability to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary. + Capability to travel overnight for business needs. + Successful completion of pre-employment background and substance screening. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred. + One year of supervisory experience in transportation is advantageous. + Familiarity with equipment and job requirements is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team at a leading railroad services company with operations across the United States.
