Logistics Specialist
Job Title: Inventory Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee the day-to-day inventory operations across multiple branches. This role is essential to ensuring efficient inventory management and movement between branches. The position requires travel up to 15%-25% of the time, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.Establish, review, and maintain critical and reorder quantities of inventory.Conduct weekly counts to balance inventories; investigate and resolve any discrepancies.Conduct quarterly and semi-annual inventory of products.Establish and manage weekly branch transfers based on priorities and balancing load.Coordinate all transportation of inventory with branch personnel.Collaborate with purchasing in determining reorder and delivery of inventory.Assist purchasing in processing quote requests and ordering material.Administer all accounting operations within accounting software and external spreadsheets.Establish appropriate equipment and staffing levels to load, unload, move, and/or store materials.Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, controlling inventory, warehousing, or receiving.Select transportation routes.Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors.Implement new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency and performance.Assist in branch safety inspections as needed.

Essential Skills

2+ years of experience in logistics or inventory management.General knowledge of inventory and purchasing principles.Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM credential) preferred.Ability to travel up to 15%-25% of the time (including overnight travel).Flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong problem-solving and action-planning aptitude.Well-developed communication skills for team collaboration.Ability to engage professionally with various team members and vendors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate degree in business administration or related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.Experience in construction or manufacturing environments preferred.High school diploma required.Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.Desire to meet and exceed deadlines and expectations.

Work Environment

This position is based at the corporate office with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility. It involves 100% in-office work with travel to 23 different locations in the Midwest, approximately twice a year. The role offers growth opportunities into purchasing management roles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vista, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.26/hr.
