**Job Title: Logistics Specialist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to optimize the flow of incoming materials and supplies for our manufacturing operations while efficiently coordinating urgent outbound shipments. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries and cultivate robust relationships with suppliers and internal teams to support uninterrupted operations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
+ Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to expedite deliveries and resolve logistics bottlenecks.
+ Prioritize orders with production and procurement teams based on schedules and demand.
+ Maintain accurate logistics data using software to track progress and report issues.
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
+ Collaborate with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to align logistics with operational goals.
+ Analyze causes of delays and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
+ Negotiate timelines with carriers and suppliers to expedite shipments while managing costs.
+ Report progress and provide updates on expedited shipments and logistics performance to management.
+ Coordinate inbound shipments of raw materials and components to meet production schedules.
+ Analyze inbound logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
+ Negotiate with carriers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or inbound operations.
+ Proficiency in logistics software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Familiarity with regulatory requirements for inbound logistics.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Certifications such as APICS or CSCMP are an advantage.
+ Demonstrated budget management skills.
+ Excellent Microsoft Office and ERP knowledge and skills.
+ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse cultures.
+ Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions proactively.
+ Strong sense of urgency, tenacity, and ownership.
+ Ability to anticipate the needs of the customer/stakeholder and provide effective solutions.
+ Capability to challenge existing practices to deliver improvements.
+ Strong collaborative approach.

**Work Environment**
This role operates in a professional office environment and occasionally encounters a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level can range from quiet to moderate to loud.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Lincolnshire, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
