AWS Infrastructure Operations Logistics seeks a Logistics Specialist to maintain inventory and manage the flow of parts across data center locations. This role ensures proper stock levels support build and repair activities while meeting service level requirements for the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure.
The Logistics Specialist manages inbound shipments, controls inventory accuracy, and coordinates with Data Center Operations Technicians to deliver parts quickly. You will work with procurement teams and vendors to resolve issues, optimize parts flow through their lifecycle, and maintain precise records of all materials. The role requires physical work including loading equipment with pallet jacks, handling shipments, and transporting parts between locations.
You will maintain metrics dashboards, validate billing accuracy, and communicate regularly with internal teams and external vendors. This position operates in a 24/7 environment and requires flexibility to work overtime as business needs dictate. The work involves standing for prolonged periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in varying noise levels and temperatures.
Success in this role requires attention to detail for inventory control, strong communication skills for vendor management, and commitment to safety standards. You will contribute to ensuring AWS customers have continual access to cloud services by keeping critical spare parts available when needed.

Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e server lifter).
• Completing manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents
• Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks
• Maintain accountability of in-stock components as well as receive and process inbound shipments
• Assist with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities
• Working with the Logistics Manager, create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement.
• Working closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately
• Working with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.
• Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.
• Support an environment that operates 24/7
• Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
• Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles
• Handle sensitive/classified client materials
• Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work is in an office environment

• Maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and or excel spreadsheets and will create reports for internal and external customer and management as required.
• Ensure that all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated and ready for processing
• Assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials
• Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations
• Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company
• Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
• Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
• Push or pull heavy objects into position
• Work in a noisy environment
• Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather
• Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
• Noise level varies and can be loud
• This team will be working overtime as needed by the business
