Logistics Manager - Clifton, NJ, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay range: $102,520 - $136,163 / year
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

The Logistics Manager II will be responsible for management of exempt level staff (Supervisors and Sr. Supervisors) of the Logistics Department at the Regional Labs, Spoke Labs and non-Regional lab facilities. In addition to Logistics operations you may have additional responsibilities e.g. facilities at smaller hubs sites as well as regional responsibilities including project oversight and reporting.  




Responsibilities: Capable of performing all duties and responsibilities of the Logistics Supervisors, Sr. Logistics Supervisors, and Logistics Manager I. Demonstrates and promotes the Quest Diagnostics Behaviors and Values in order to contribute to the overall Vision, Goals and Strategy. Establishes and cultivates an inclusive, motivational, enabling and performance oriented work environment through engagement, collaboration, and transparent communication.  Drives an environment of continuous process improvement locally by engaging employees to implement ideas that will simplify and improve their work. Supports being united as one team on enterprise continuous improvement methodologies and initiatives as appropriate.   Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; Agile in managing concerns of internal and external customers and employees in a professional manner using the EveryDay Excellence Principles. Communicates and interacts regularly and transparently with Supervisors & employees; disseminates information in a timely manner using the Everyday Excellence Principles. Responsible for oversight of performance-oriented supervision, training, coaching, and developing new employees and all staff on all job duties, compliance, and annual competency requirements. Maintains logistics services for specimen pickup within the areas served by area of responsibility Provides short/long term range planning for the logistics area in order to meet departmental requirements and client needs. Prioritizes logistics activities to meet deadlines.  Ensures required trainings are completed by self and staff to meet deadlines: (i.e. Compliance, Safety, Safe Driver, etc.). Accountable for hiring and on-boarding exempt staff. Accountable for ensuring performance standards of the department are met through training, coaching and performance management. Works with Director to analyzes and develop a departmental budget for manpower and operational costs. Develops and maintains effective and efficient communications with all internal and external clients. Adherence to department budget. Responsible for the accuracy of invoice and expense coding and associated records Responsible for the accuracy of payroll and associated records. Properly maintains required records and documentation.  Knows where to find, understands, can properly articulate and complies with company and departmental policies, protocols and procedures including but not limited to Safety, Compliance, Vehicle, Employee Handbook, and Quality Assurance.  Demonstrates organizational commitment. Valid State driver’s license with a driving record that meets Quest Driver’s Safety requirements. 


Qualifications:

Required Work Experience:  

10+ years in logistics field 10 years Leadership/Supervisory experience 5-8 years managerial experience specifically in Logistics field 

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

Position requires travel Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; including weekends, holidays, on call and overtime Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds   May require extended periods of focus    May require extended periods of sitting or standing   Ability to manage stress    Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting  

Knowledge:  

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) Proficiency with OSP, QDTrac, PeopleSoft and other Quest Diagnostics IT systems
