Loadout Technician
**Job Title: Loadout Technician** Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Loadout Technician to effectively manage the loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, and containers while ensuring compliance with our company's standards. This role requires climbing and working at elevations in varying weather conditions, from very cold to very hot ambient temperatures. Responsibilities also include proper documentation of shipping and receiving logs, conducting initial lab analysis on inbound products, and verifying freight bills. The Loadout Technician will prepare and review shipping documentation, maintain cleanliness in the tank farm and trucking bay, and receive parts and supplies for plant and office inventory. Additionally, the role involves operating material handling equipment and company vehicles safely, wearing appropriate PPE, and assisting with plant operations and maintenance. Responsibilities + Load and unload trucks, railcars, and totes/containers in accordance with company standards. + Climb and work at elevations onto semi-tractor trailers and railcars in inclement weather. + Document shipping and receiving logs/files/records for every shipment. + Conduct initial lab analysis on inbound products to ensure quality standards. + Verify freight bills and prepare/review packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation. + Maintain cleanliness of the tank farm and trucking bay. + Receive parts and supplies for plant/office and file for inventory records. + Enter customer data into data management system as required. + Facilitate customer sample requests. + Operate material handling equipment safely (forklifts, telehandler, pallet jacks). + Operate company vehicles safely (box truck). + Wear proper PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes) and utilize safety harness/fall systems when required. + Assist with plant operations/maintenance as needed. + Package products and prepare for shipping in accordance with regulations and standards. + Answer phones professionally and communicate with customer/shipping representatives by email. + Provide documentation to customers as needed. + Receive after-hours calls to facilitate operations and respond accordingly. + Comply with all company food safety and occupational safety requirements. + Maintain a clean, food-safe, and occupationally safe truck bay. + Participate in company trainings. + Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving. + Proficiency in document management and data entry. + Ability to load and unload trucks safely. + Forklift operation skills. + Strong inspection and customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid driver's license. + Computer proficiency. + Comfortable working at heights. + Ability to routinely lift 75 lbs. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes an 8:00am to 5:00pm schedule in a climate-controlled setting. The dress code is casual, with steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, and additional PPE required. Uniforms will be provided later on. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
