Job Title: Packaging Operator

Job Description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for the final packaging of flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts) according to the directions on each batch ticket. This role involves working closely with the Batch Processors to ensure that batches are packaged with a focus on food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy. The Packaging Operator may operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks. The ability to read labels and follow safety procedures is essential. This role is responsible for packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label and monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

ResponsibilitiesPackage final flavors according to batch ticket directions.Collaborate closely with Batch Processors to ensure quality and accuracy.Operate machinery, including mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.Read labels and adhere to safety procedures.Monitor equipment for safe and efficient operation.Record operational and production data as specified.Transport materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.Understand the importance of food safety in our products.Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.Follow standard operating procedures, including equipment sanitation after each batch.Essential SkillsAbility to read and follow batch ticket directions.Experience operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.Proficiency in recording operational and production data.Ability to transport materials using equipment and sit-down forklifts.Understanding of food safety principles.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role operates in a Food GMP environment where employees will experience strong flavors. Steel toe shoes, hair nets, and uniforms are required, and no jewelry is allowed. The job involves lifting and moving various weights, including 50lb boxes and 25-30lb containers, with tasks rotating throughout the shift. Employees will receive a uniform and locker for their belongings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
