Job Title: Linen TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Linen Technician to join our team. This role involves pushing carts of soiled linens from patient rooms throughout the hospital. The position requires a high level of physical activity, including walking 3-4 miles a day while maneuvering carts. Ideal candidates have experience in linen tech, stocking, or loading/unloading, and are comfortable working with dirty/soiled linens.

ResponsibilitiesPush carts of soiled linens from patient rooms throughout the hospital.Walk long distances, approximately 3-4 miles daily, within the hospital.Ensure proper sorting and handling of linens.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Essential SkillsBasic math counting skillsShipping and receiving experienceRF scanning experienceJanitorial and cleaning skills
Additional Skills & QualificationsCandidates must be physically capable of pushing a cart up to 100 pounds.Ability to walk 15,000-20,000 steps per shift.RF Scanner experience preferred.Understanding of pick/order sheets.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled within Novant Hospital. Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the first shift, and 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM for the second shift, with work required every third weekend. The dress code mandates khakis and a blue collared shirt, no facial jewelry, long nails, perfume, or lotion. Clothing must not have vulgar, profane, or offensive writing, and candidates must wear close-toed shoes, such as tennis shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
