The Life Science Imaging, Solutions Architect for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing in-field technical applications support for our current and “next generation” range of automated instrumentation and reagents. Achieve Leica regional sales and profitability goals within assigned territory. This position is part of the Life Science team and will be Field based/ fully remote. You will be a part of the Life Science team and report to the National Director and be responsible for taking care of the Pathology customers in the Chicagoland area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Support market adoption of digital pathology slide scanners by delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and representing the company at customer engagements and scientific events. + Deliver advanced pre- and post-sales application support and training for imaging systems and software, including troubleshooting, workflow optimization, installations, and scientific guidance to ensure customer success and retention. + Engage in discovery calls to identify customer needs and translate scientific requirements into optimized product configurations and workflow solutions. + Enable sales success by delivering scientific competitive comparisons, differentiated value messaging, and objection-handling insights that accelerate deal progression. + Engage in scientific consultations, deliver hands-on training, translate complex concepts into actionable guidance, and collaborate cross-functionally to support customer success and product improvement. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Pathology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field. + Hands-on experience with IHC/IF assays, tissue-based workflows, microscopy, or slide scanning technologies. + Experience in Biotech, Pharma, CRO, or Academic research environments. + Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skill Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + Ability to travel regionally 50-70%, depending on territory. + Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Experience supporting digital pathology or research microscopy and software in a customer-facing role. + Familiarity with spatial biology platforms, multiplex assays, or automated staining or imaging instrumentation workflows. + Previous experience in Field Applications, Technical Support, or Sales Support roles. + Knowledge of histology, antibody validation, and tissue handling best practices. The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
