Our BMC Inpatient Operating Rooms offer support and comes fully equipped to help you do what YOU do best, provide care for our patients!

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

This unit has a highly experienced team that supports 24 new state of the art inpatient/outpatient operating rooms and 8 heart and vascular and neurology interventional procedure rooms, performing surgical procedures to restore and enhance the lives of patients.

This unit operates 24/7 with coverage and support expectations of weekends and off-shift rotations at least quarterly.

SCHEDULE:

Full-Time, 40-hours per week

On-call, holiday, and weekend rotations required

Location: Baystate Medical Center Springfield

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Licensed as an LPN in the state of Massachusetts

Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification

Minimum 1 year of LPN experience; surgical experience strongly preferred

Orientation & Training Overview (OR):

New hires will complete Peri-Op 101, followed by a structured orientation with a preceptor across OR services. Orientation typically ranges from 7 months to 1 year and is primarily Monday–Friday, day shift during initial training

Schedule & Start Date:

Start date is TBD based on offer and unit readiness. Initial training schedules are fixed and mandatory. Shift options and long-term scheduling will be determined based on unit needs.

Additional Information:

Time-off requests during Peri-Op 101 are limited. More detailed scheduling, shift options, and orientation expectations will be reviewed by the recruiter during the screening and hiring process.
