FlexStaff is hiring LPN's for our client, who runs a specialized educational setting for children through young adult age groups who have special needs. This position is located in the Westchester, NY region. You will be required to work 3 (12) hour shifts per week and you have the option of working from 7am-7pm or from 8am-8pm between Tuesday- Sunday.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, contributing to the overall well-being and health of students of the school. This role is essential in supporting the healthcare team by performing basic nursing duties, administering medications, monitoring student conditions, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all students at this school.
The LPN must adhere to established policies, procedures, and scope of practice while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
Collects student health information, including medical history and current symptoms. Performs basic wound care, dressing changes, and other treatments as ordered by the physician or RN. Administers prescribed medications orally, topically, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and rectally, accurately and safely, according to established policies and scope of practice. Monitors students for medication side effects and therapeutic responses, reporting any concerns promptly. Maintains accurate medication records and documentation. Accurately and timely documents all patient care, observations, and interventions in the patient's electronic health record (EHR) or paper chart. Communicates effectively with RNs, physicians and families regarding patient status, concerns, and care plans. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Adheres to infection control policies and procedures, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and respect for students and colleagues.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Licensure: Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience: [e.g., Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but new graduates may be considered.]

Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull for extended periods. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally more. Manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and operate equipment.
