This appointment is scheduled to begin on August 25, 2026, and end on April 30, 2027. As proposed, this appointment is not benefits eligible. **Mission Statement** The mission of the University of Michigan is to serve the people of Michigan and the world through preeminence in creating, communicating, preserving and applying knowledge, art, and academic values, and in developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future. **Responsibilities*** Duties of LEO Lecturer I positions are expected to include teaching, developing course materials, evaluating and grading students, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. Course Title: Introduction to Talmud, for undergraduate students. Course Objectives: To introduce the classic Jewish text of the Talmud with attention to its diverse genres and contexts of late antiquity. **Required Qualifications*** The candidate must hold a Master's Degree or PhD with competency in Talmudic studies within the frameworks of religious studies and Judaic studies. Prior teaching experience required, specifically experience in teaching Talmud is desired. **Desired Qualifications*** Knowledge of relevant languages. **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
