Job summary
As a Legal Specialist Analyst on the Litigation Subpoena Escalation Team in the Legal function, you will work with the team on complex and escalated civil, regulatory, and criminal subpoena matters across JPMorganChase (“JPMC”) lines of business and concerning all bank products. You will assist the team in reviewing subpoenas and other legal correspondences such as grand jury subpoenas, regulatory CIDs, Search Warrants, National Security Letters, IRS asset discovery summonses, civil subpoenas, deposition notices for record certification as well as person most knowledgeable (PMK) depositions served to JPMC. You will provide legal support to attorneys by assisting with matter management, including ensuring accurate data entry for matters in the firm’s matter management system, maintenance of case files in iManage, and assistance with the matter closure process. Job responsibilities
Review and analyze third-party subpoenas, court orders, and other legal documentsPrepare and maintain detailed records of all subpoenas and legal requests received and processedPrioritize and manage multiple projects and assignmentsEnsure detailed and accurate documentationCollaborate with multiple attorneys on various tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Minimum 1 year of experience in legal practice, with a focus on subpoena compliance, litigation, or regulatory compliance in the banking or financial services industryExcellent English language skills, both spoken and written – requiredExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHigh ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrityProficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in a law firm or in-house legal departmentA 4-year undergraduate degree is preferredSkills in legal drafting, contract review, and/or knowledge of bankingLaw degree from a premier law school and membership in a jurisdictional organization
