Job Title: Legal Intern

The Opportunity

We are interested in law students looking to develop functional knowledge and skills for general corporate and insurance-specific legal practice. You will work on a hybrid basis (both in-office and remote) with all levels of QBE’s Legal & Regulatory (“L&R”) team and key stakeholders. During the ten-week internship, you will rotate through L&R’s four different working groups, each providing opportunities to complete substantive assignments and build relationships with experienced legal professionals.

Location: New York, New YorkWork Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the New York office 4 days per week.The pay rate: $40.75Duration: June 1st - August 7th

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct legal research, review regulations and legal precedent and assist with drafting of agreements, contracts and opinions under the direct supervision of attorneys to facilitate corporate legal proceedingsAssist fulfillment of regulatory requests by partnering across the organization to gather, clarify and organize information to draft and submit timely responsesCollaborate with team by sharing information and seeking guidance on complex legal questions and inquiries to foster information sharing and thorough analysis of legal issuesSupport legal projects by planning and prioritizing assigned work and drafting required correspondence to meet deadlines and achieve desired resultsAssist with timely submission of required filings by monitoring and tracking filing statuses and communicating with regulators to ensure organizational compliance with multiple states’ requirementsIdentify and communicate legal developments relevant to assignments to help develop responses and necessary updates of organizational policies and proceduresPrepare business correspondence (often using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software)Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaborations, creativity and funSupport QBE values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions and interpersonal interactions; manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives


Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school (position open to 1Ls and 2Ls)Excellent legal research and writing skillsEligible to lawfully work in the U.S.Ability to work from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026.
