Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
\tMaintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
\tMonitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all court filings and other legal documents.
Client Interaction:
\tServe as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information.
\tIs upbeat, empathetic, and positive in their interactions with clients.
\tSchedule and coordinate client meetings.
\tAssist attorneys in preparing for client meetings and court appearances if needed.
Administrative Support:
\tManage attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
\tWork with attorneys and the firm’s finance team to ensure monthly invoices are accurate and sent to clients in a timely fashion.
\tMaintain confidentiality of all client and case information.
Other Duties:
\tResponsible for performing conflict checks and opening new client matters.
\tAssist with special projects as needed.
\tStay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's trust and estates practice.
Qualifications
Education:
\tHigh school diploma or equivalent work experience in Trust and Estates required.
Experience:
\tMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Trust & Estates.
Skills:
\tExperience working with Trusts & Estates attorneys.
\tProficient knowledge of general estate planning matters.
\tKnowledge of e-filing systems required for uploading probate documents to court.
\tStrong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
\tProficient in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
\tHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail.
\tStrong organizational and time management skills.
\tAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion.
\tProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Work Environment:
-- This position operates onsite in a professional office environment.
-- The ideal candidate must be comfortable travelling to our satellite office in Hingham, MA (Fridays only) to support the partner during signings and to perform any other duties required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $60.00/hr.
