Job Description
The Legal Administrative Assistant is integral to providing comprehensive administrative support for the Legal Department, Company Officers, and other departments as needed. This role demands multitasking capabilities and discretion in handling highly confidential matters.
ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support and assistance for the legal department, including maintaining visual compliance, handling Department of Insurance (DOI) Complaints, DOI Data Requests, Audits, Small Group Reporting, managing lawsuits, carrier audits, record requests and subpoenas, corporate DOI licensing, corporate Secretary of State licensing, corporate maintenance, and updating and maintaining the Master Filing/Renewal calendar.Assist with contracts and maintain related files.Update and maintain Legal Department folders.Offer administrative support for Executives, including attorney licensing/continuing legal education (CLE), assisting with meetings for executive team and management staff, communicating with event coordinators, managing executive projects, keeping track of executives' schedules, and maintaining meeting room schedules.Notarize documents for staff as needed.Serve as the Supply Coordinator for the executive area by maintaining supplies and communicating needs to Office Services.Order, prepare, distribute, and mail/deliver cards for special occasions such as agent birthdays.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years of corporate or professional office experience, providing full-time administrative and/or secretarial assistance.Ability to handle confidential material judiciously.Above-average writing skills, including composition of business correspondence.Professional communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in health insurance administration is preferred.Experience in a legal department or law office administration is preferred.Computer literacy with intermediate-level proficiency in software programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, or their equivalents is preferred.High School Diploma or equivalent is required.An Associate or professional degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.Work Environment
The position is 100% in-office, with a flexible schedule of either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, working a total of 37.5 hours per week. The role emphasizes work-life balance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
