Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionThe Lean Manufacturing Intern will support the Lean team by actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity. This role offers hands-on experience in real manufacturing operations through activities such as time studies, Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and process analysis. The intern will contribute to reducing cycle time and lead time across different operational areas using Lean tools and methodologies.Key Responsibilities
As a Lean Manufacturing Intern, you will be responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation through the following activities:
Support the Lean Manufacturing team in daily activities and continuous improvement projectsConduct time studies and process observations to support cycle time and lead time reduction initiativesParticipate in and support Kaizen events, including preparation, data collection, execution, and follow-upPerform Gemba walks to identify waste, improvement opportunities, and process gapsAssist in the analysis and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Daily Management System (DMS) metricsSupport the identification and implementation of process improvements focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiencyParticipate in material flow improvement projects within warehouse and production line areasProvide administrative and operational support to the Moonshine area, responsible for manufacturing carts and structuresHelp develop and reinforce Lean awareness and capabilities within the Moonshine teamDocument standard work, improvement actions, and best practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Logistics, and EngineeringPrepare basic reports and presentations to communicate findings, progress, and resultsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:Industrial EngineeringManufacturing EngineeringMechanical EngineeringOr a related engineering fieldMust be an active student (internship eligible)Technical Skills (Preferred)Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, waste identification, standard work)Excel / Power BI skills for data analysis2D/3D CAD skills is a plusInterest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvementBasic English proficiency is a plusSoft Skills & CompetenciesStrong willingness to learn and apply new conceptsProactive mindset and continuous improvement attitudeGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a manufacturing / shop floor environmentEffective communication and teamwork skillsOrganized, responsible, and detail-orientedAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
