We are seeking a dedicated Leak Survey Inspector to join our team. This entry-level position is focused on performing inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. Candidates must have a valid driver's license - company vehicle will be provided.
ResponsibilitiesPerform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters.Complete all necessary documentation related to inspections.Ensure readings and records comply with company and regulatory requirements.Support the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections.Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys.Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits.Essential SkillsCustomer service oriented approach.Mechanical aptitude.Strong communication skills to effectively convey job-related information.Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders during an 8-hour workday in various weather conditions.Additional Skills & QualificationsPossess excellent verbal and written communication skills.High school diploma or equivalent.Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills.Ability to work in both a team setting and independently with minimal supervision.Intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and mechanical aptitude.Valid state driver's license.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a 100% field-based position requiring flexibility to travel within the utility territory. Training includes OSHA orientation and classroom instruction in the first week, followed by certification testing and job shadowing. Operations hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with optional Saturday shifts. Technicians will report to job sites, equipped with tools such as a flashlight, gas detector, field binder, ID badges, hand-held tablet, FR shirts, pants, safety vest, and hard hat.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, Connecticut. Work site locations will be between the New Haven and Hartford, CT area.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
