Job Summary
This position is for a UM-Dearborn student who is enrolled at least part-time and who is available to
work up to 15 hours per week for the duration of the employment period.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to students, staff, and faculty utilizing the Office of Student Life services and resources and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalismServe as a first point of contact for students looking for referral to campus and community resources Maintain administrative processes and tools (e.g., VictorsLink, student organization mail distribution, answering departmental emails)Maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with the students, staff, and facultyOther tasks as assignedRequired Qualifications*Enrolled at least part-time as a UM-Dearborn studentMust be available for OSL student staff training in August 2026Ability to speak publicly and represent the Office of Student Life in a positive lightHigh level of interpersonal skills: can listen effectively and interact with people appropriately and professionallyAvailable to work some nights and weekendsProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google SuiteDesired Qualifications*Preference will be given to those candidates who will be enrolled through the WI27 semesterFederal Work Study EligibleHow You'll GrowCommunication: Students will be able to effectively share information, ideas, and perspectives with different audiences.Critical Thinking: Students will be able to approach problems by understanding context, anticipating needs and actions, and analyzing relevant information.Equity and Inclusion: Students will gain work with other students, staff, faculty, and community partners of varying backgrounds and identities, while learning about the issues that these communities/constituents face.Leadership: Students will research and use leadership theories, practices, and skills in order to educate their peers and will hear varying perspectives on such topics.Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
