Position Brand Description:

The person in this position mentors and develops maintenance personnel. They are responsible for managing a team of personnel, creating work schedules for maintenance mechanics, and looking for opportunities to reduce overtime by collaborating with business partners to schedule work during normal working hours. The person in this role must determine both insourcing and outsourcing opportunities to maintain the overall backlog. They are responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant and cost-efficient maintenance operation and have responsibility for improving productivity and quality of maintenance by eliminating potential delays and obstacles. This position will ensure the process systems are maintained in a reliable, cost effective, and compliant manner to meet business partner requirements.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Safety

Comply with all HSE aspects, support departmental HSE plans, meet goals and objectives (i.e. LOTO)Promote the use of Be-Safe, Safe Start, LIFE, and other safety programsManage Be-Safe submissions and Gensuite action tracker activitiesProvide a safe working environment by continued development of the safety effortsEngage the team in safety initiativesVerify that the work has been completed in compliance with safety standards

Quality

Ensure personnel learning plans are accurate for their roles and training compliance is maintained at 100%Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in a manner fit for use and in accordance with housekeeping and fit and finish standardsMaintain a state of inspection readinessVerify that the work has been completed in compliance with quality standards Ensure that there is an adequate number of qualified personnel Ensure that the only qualified personnel are assigned to perform work

Operational Excellence

Support communications between functional teamsUse information systems to better manage work and communicate with customers (i.e., GMARS, Outlook, Word, Excel, Business Objects, etc.)Ensure work orders have correct information (location, GL account, etc.)Manage the backlog by establishing maintenance work schedules and coordinating with impacted teamsManage free issue maintenance partsReview all completed work orders for proper documentation and close the work order

People

Ensure that staff have a job description that adequately describes their dutiesOversee development of performance management plans for the maintenance organization that are aligned with organizational and corporate prioritiesDevelop direct reports by identifying skill gaps, providing coaching, and addressing performance issuesManage succession-planning activities for key positions in the departmentUtilize recognition tools as appropriate to reward individual and team accomplishmentsParticipate in the selection of maintenance personnelMeet regularly with your group to share information, learning points, action and business plans, metrics, areas for improvement and recognition

Basic Requirements/Education:

High School diploma/GEDMinimum 2 years' experience as a supervisor OR minimum 3 years' experience in a craftsperson, mechanic, or technician roleMust possess a valid driver's licenseQualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Work schedule is nights 3-2-2-3 12 hours, with overtime required to meet business needs

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$40.38 - $64.52

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
