Lead Systems Programmer
CTG is seeking to fill a Lead Systems Programmer position for our client. Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid Remote) Duration: 12 months, with possibility for extension Duties: Change Coordination & Oversight (25%): Plan, review, and lead execution of complex upgrades and configuration changes across supported platforms. Subject Matter Expertise (20%): Serve as the SME for one or more subsystems and advise stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies. Mentoring & Team Enablement (15%): Mentor junior and mid-level programmers, providing guidance on task execution and incident response. Incident Management & Recovery (15%): Lead resolution of high-priority incidents and deliver post-mortem documentation as requested. Architecture Collaboration (15%): Partner with infrastructure architects to ensure subsystem configurations align with enterprise standards. Process Standardization (10%): Define and maintain runbooks, configuration baselines, and audit-ready documentation. Skills: Strong expertise in one or more mainframe subsystems (e.g., CICS, DB2, DASD, Network, z/OS, third-party tools). Proven leadership in change management, incident resolution, and cross-team collaboration. Ability to document processes, configurations, and recovery procedures clearly and accurately. Experience mentoring technical staff and fostering team capability growth. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in one or more mainframe support areas (CICS, DB2, DASD, Network, third-party tools, z/OS, etc.). Experience leading complex migrations, implementing automation, and working with external vendors is preferred. Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required). Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
