Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Description

The Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician supports the preparation of sterile medications in a controlled cleanroom environment while following cGMP standards, USP / requirements, and company procedures. Working under a pharmacist’s supervision, this role assists with all stages of sterile product preparation, documentation, equipment use, and daily pharmacy operations. The technician helps maintain production accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a safe, well‑organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare sterile compounded products using proper aseptic technique in ISO 5 hoods.

- Eventually with be working under the hood for 8 hours a day after SOPs are set-up

- Follow batch records, documentation standards, and regulatory guidelines.

- Perform sterile tasks such as transferring medications into IV bags, filling syringes, pooling vials, and mixing APIs.

- Maintain cleanroom conditions and report any deviations or concerns to a pharmacist.

- Complete labeling, packaging, and batch documentation accurately.

- Keep training and competency records current.

- Support production scheduling, continuous improvement efforts, and compliance initiatives.

- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and used according to SOPs.

- Participate in validation activities, media fills, and cleanroom certification.

- Assist pharmacists with daily operational tasks and departmental goals.

- Contribute to team communication, meetings, and workflow coordination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Active Missouri pharmacy technician registration and/or national certification (CPhT).

- Completion of an ACPE‑approved sterile compounding training program.

- Prior hands‑on experience preparing IV sterile products.

-Experience with hazardous drugs and chemo drugs

- High school diploma or equivalent education.

- Familiarity with cGMP expectations, including relevant sections of 21 CFR 210 and 211.

- Solid working knowledge of USP standards related to non‑sterile, sterile, and hazardous compounding (, , ).

Work Environment:

Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. Start up environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
