Lead Specialist - Risk Consulting

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Consulting team at Marsh. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a part of the Marsh Risk Consulting team in Knowledge Services function of MMGS, the colleague would work with our Property Risk Consulting Team in India to support the Natural Catastrophic and Climate Risk projects for our PRC Canada stakeholders. Marsh’s Risk Consulting team helps to identify, qualify, quantify and manage property or physical asset related risks that an organization may face and interruption to their operations from the after affects of an incident. Property Risk Consulting provides a range of value-added risk engineering, risk management and loss control identification, assessment and mitigation consulting solutions.

We will count on you to:

Lead delivery on consulting engagements for natural peril and climate change related projects.

Develop, validate, and maintain advanced models and GIS-based tools to assess and visualize risk scenarios.

Support the development of new capabilities in natural catastrophe and climate consulting services.

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate data into actionable business strategies and insights.

Translate technical outputs into practical recommendations for risk mitigation, portfolio optimization, and risk transfer; prepare executive summaries and present to non-technical stakeholders.

Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and mentoring of peers while collaborating with analytics, catastrophe modelling, consulting, and client teams.

What you need to have: 

5 to 7 years of experience with natural catastrophe and/or climate risk consulting  domain with specific industry knowledge in one or more of the following: Natural perils (including flood/hydrology, forest fire/fire dynamics, severe convective storms, earthquake, and hurricane) Climate change and climate consulting (physical risk, transition risk, decarbonization)

Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Meteorology, Climate Science, Engineering, Geospatial Science or similar.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven experience producing deliverables on time and managing stakeholder expectations.

Proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, geopandas, xarray) and SQL; experience with geospatial data ETL and related libraries (GDAL/OGR) is a plus.

What makes you stand out?

Strong academic rigor with degree in Environmental Science, Meteorology, Climate Science, Engineering, Geospatial Science or related fields from reputed institutions.

Strong knowledge of Climate Change and geospatial mapping tools like QGIS and ArcGIS will be highly advantageous.
