As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Merchant Services team, you will play a crucial role as part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products with a focus on security, stability, and scalability.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsLeading one or more scrum teams with ownership and accountabilityRunning Production operations independently and a self sustainable modelDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Proficient in coding in one or more languages - Java / Spring Boot / Microservices / RestAPIs/ PythonExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.Strong Programming Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, DDB, S3, SQS, KDS, MSK, Lambdas, Glue)Hands on experience in Software Development tools and CI/CD tools - Jenkins, Spinnaker, IntelliJ, BitbucketHands on experience in Infrastructure As Code (IAC) - TeraformExperienced in SRE and Observability tools - Splunk, Dynatrace and DatadogOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
