As a Lead Software Engineer - Java/AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to improving, developing, and providing reliable, cutting-edge technology solutions that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Job responsibilities:

Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasksExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesExecutes the delivery of software development as a lead on an agile teamTriage technical issues and work toward solving problemsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s) (Backend: JAVA, Spring Boot Framework, AWS Cloud, UI technology stack - React JS or Angular, CSS/HTML, etc.) Proficient designing, developing and maintaining event driven systems using Apache Kafka or AWS MSK.Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsUnderstand building internet scale platforms from ground up, with strong background knowledge of OOP & SOA principles, enterprise design patterns and industry best practices (using modern technology e.g., JAVA, Cassandra, Kafka, micro services, APIs, etc.) Practical cloud native experience (e.g., proficiency with AWS services - EKS, ECS, Dynamo Db, Cassandra, Lambda, S3, etc.)Demonstrate proficiency in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

Exposure to AI based Code Assist tools and AI/ML solutionsFamiliarity with Graph databases.
