As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceMinimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experienceExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesProvides technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams, fostering growth and development of junior engineersDefines and drives the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for complex, large-scale systemsCollaborates with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutionsOversees end-to-end delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standardsDesigns and implements scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions leveraging Java, Spring, AWS, Oracle, and Postgres

 

  Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in Java, AWS, Spring boot, TerraformsHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficiency with programming languages like Java is a must, SQL and React.js and understand software development best practicesExtensive hands-on experience in RDBMS, particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning for efficient data management and retrievalProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsHands-on experience in AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS KMS, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, Event Bridge, PostgreSQLHands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform & Cloud Formation etc.Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
