Lead Software Engineer - Golang/AWS

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesCreate technical design for development and integration of new software and system technologiesLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureParticipate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecastingDrive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via developing tools and automation Adopting cutting-edge technologies and creating best-of-breed solutions by researching and evaluating alternate solutionsHelp evangelize and adopt Service Registry to an eco-system of developers in the technical community

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Expert level proficiency with at least one programming language such as Golang, C++Hands-on practical experience in the public cloud (AWS) and Terraform is essential.Experience in writing automated tests (python, shell scripting etc.)Experience in System & Networking is essential.Experience in Kubernetes is essential Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills - desire and expertise to build and solve complex problems in systems at scaleExperience in Service Registry technology is a plus.
