As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking Customer Acquisition and Marketing Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for developing and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDesign, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines for large-scale, complex data environments using Spark or similar frameworkDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersWork in an Agile development environment with team members, including Product Owners and Data OwnersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsServe as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus and actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the end-to-end development life cycleEnsure quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testingInfluence peers and project decision makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience5+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring and Spring Boot2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS especially Terraform, ECS, and Lambda2+ years of hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra) and above average with database fundamentals – can write complex queries, understands how to organize data, and troubleshoot performance issuesProven experience in data management, ETL pipeline development, and data processingUnderstand next generation messaging and streaming technologies such as KafkaStrong understanding of data quality, security, and lineage best practicesCollaborate with various stakeholders and independently tackle design and functionality challenges with minimal oversightHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operation stabilityExcellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong customer focusStrong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with cloud-based data warehouse migration and modernizationExperience using Snowflake, Databricks or a similar PaaS offeringStrong Python experience, especially in the context of developing Data solutions for large financial platformsExperience with Agentic technologies including design and implementation of production-grade solutions
