As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Digital Utilities team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Our Team is focused on making Customer account data (examples: Credit Card, Investments, Deposit, Lending) available for chase.com and mobile experiences. Our team works on integrating with data-producers to ingest, reconcile and deliver utility-grade capabilities for data access. Our solutions are used to provide site-resilience and drive unique and novel Customer experiences. We deliver mission critical applications that run into thousands of TPS and provide low-latency, always-available capability for millions of Customers.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesDemonstrates knowledge of architecture and design across all systemsExhibits in multiple modern programming languagesUtilizes in modern SDLC practices such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous DeploymentApplies of industry-wide technology trends and best practicesPossesses understanding of financial control and budget managementCollaborates to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplinesExtensive core Java development experience with Spring or similar frameworkExpert understanding of data structures, algorithms & multi-threaded programmingExperience working on high throughput mission critical high-performance platformsAbility to influence architecture and design across distributed systemsExperience in designing and building reusable servicesProven track record in application delivery and stakeholder managementExperience with Cloud Foundry, AWS and KubernatiesStack: Java, Spring, AWS, Kubernaties, Kafka, MQ, Cassandra, Oracle, Spark, Control-M, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, PowerMock, JMeter, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, Jenkins and etc.
Preferred Qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with Distributed Platforms (Kubernaties, AWS EMR ), Java Spark and Control-MExperience developing open-source libraries or internal libraries that are integrated into applications by other internal teamsBehavior Driven Development using Cucumber and Continual Integration with Jenkins & SpinnakerExperience with Cloud native software deployment ideally AWS & PCFExperience with message bus technologies such as Kafka or MQExperience with database technologies (e.g. Cassandra, Oracle, DynamoDB)Exceptional client relationship skills including the ability to discover true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical approaches, drive efforts to meet committed timelines with optimal solutions.
