As a Lead Software Engineer-AWS/Java at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking's Card Installment team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Lead a team of 6-8 engineers with a strong focus on Java and AWS technologies, ensuring effective collaboration and communicationExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others for quality assuranceIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external partners and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands on experience with Java,J2EE, Sprint/Spring boot, AWS services, including ECS, EKS, S3, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS and related technologiesStrong familiarities with micro-service designs and proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleDeep technical knowledge of utilizing frameworks to deliver applications, and being able to dive deep into code implementationsHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices to streamline software development processes, enhance collaboration, and ensure rapid delivery of high-quality software productsSkilled in designing and developing applications with robust resiliency features, ensuring they can withstand and recover from failures, maintain availability, and provide consistent performance under varying conditions.Proficient in integrating security measures within the software development lifecycle, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and implementing best practices to safeguard applications against potential security threats and breaches.Experience with distributed streaming platform (Kafka) Proficiency in databases like Oracle and Cassandra(any other no SQL database).Expertise in using monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana and creating dashboards and alerts using these
