As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking API Marketplace Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Leads sessions with internal teams to drive optimal usage of tools and gateway configuration to ensure customer successExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsIdentifies and measures application SLAs, customer journeys and tool usageLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesDevelops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by othersAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineers concepts and 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityPractical cloud native experienceExcellent verbal and written communicationStrong problem-solving skills with a high level of accountabilityExperience with API Management Platform such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong, or Spring cloud gatewayExperience in development, deployment strategies and support of REST and GraphQL API interfacesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with Identity and Access management services Experience in networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTPS) and CDN technologiesExperience in incident management and improving MTTx metrics.
