About the role
Software Engineers at Mastercard design and code a variety of applications covering transaction processing, analytics, user interfaces, and APIs using a blend of cutting-edge technologies across big data, distributed systems, machine learning, and more. As a Software Engineer, you will deliver these products and solutions with speed and agility as part of a small team. This will involve developing high-performing, highly scalable software solutions and products for some of the world’s top brands. Specific tasks vary depending on the project and the business unit that you join in.

As a Lead Software Engineer at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general responsibilities:
•\tLeads software engineering projects and creates the development and delivery of enhanced software solutions.
•\tResearches alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.
•\tResponsible for assuring the daily activities of the team meet the requirements of SLA’s.

Major Accountabilities:
•\tSuccessfully lead major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications.
•\tCreate solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
•\tLead day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
•\tCollaborate with business and technical partners to identify and scope the opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, identify risks, benefits and constraints.
•\tContribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise.
•\tDevelop overall strategic technical plan and create architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps.
•\tAs recognized subject matter expert, lead planning, design and implementation of technical solutions.
•\tCreate solution definition and solution architecture.
•\tAssist Management in Business Case Development and Scenario Planning leading to an effective decision making process.
•\tMake presentations to the Management, Business Owners and other Stakeholders.

All about you
Education:
•\tBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
•\t5 to 8 years of experience in related field, including 5 to 8 years of experience in delivering secure solutions in Financial Services Sector is preferred.
•\tAdvanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, Design Principles is required.
•\tExperience in Golang, gRPC, Java, AI/ML, REST APIs, async processing, concurrency, multi-threading
•\tDemonstrate MC Core Competencies.
Skills/ Abilities:
•\tAbility to be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment along with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
•\tStrong communication skills -- both verbal and written – and strong relationship, collaboration skills and organizational skills.
•\tAbility to quickly learn and implement new technologies, frameworks and tools and support multiple concurrent activities and to interface with external / internal resources, working as a member of a matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
