Lead Software Engineer

The Lead Software Engineer operates within the realm of the Individual Markets Production Support organization and acts as part of a global team to ensure the highest levels of application stability and availability. The position acts independently and/or collaboratively with solution architects, development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the daily care and feeding of the applications and associated infrastructure, as well as provide tier 2/3 support to escalated requests and break/fix items.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
+ Support complex solutions in an Agile environment as part of a global team of engineers, designers, and product experts
+ Gather and analyze data and develop requirements at project level
+ Conduct and lead technical design discussions across multiple technology disciplines to propose viable solutions to complex problems
+ Liaise between software engineering teams and production support to facilitate operational readiness. Provide level 2/3 support for escalated incidents/defects.
+ Develop and build strong relationships across the business to effectively influence and accomplish strategic objectives.
+ Assist on-shore and off-shore teams with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge. Mentor and develop new or less experienced team members.
+ Provide technical training to external team members to foster stronger cross-departmental relations.
+ Follow the sun support model thru on-call rotation.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field
+ 8-10 years of professional software development experience
+ Experience with service-oriented and cloud native software architectures
+ Experience with a broad range of technologies including .NET, Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Spring batch, Web Services. Node.js, React, and shell scripting as plus.
+ Experience with a broad range of database technologies including MS SQL Server/PL SQL, Oracle, DB2,
+ Experience with modern web application development, including build tools, testing and CI/CD
+ Experience with secure programming practices, software delivery and cloud security principles
+ Experience with cloud technology including AWS, Docker, Kafka, SNS/SQS
+ Experience with source control and development workflows: Bitbucket, Git
+ Familiarity with trouble-shooting tools such as Splunk, Zenoss and AppDynamics/Dynatrace
+ Familiarity with API architectures including microservice strategy
+ Proven ability to take a lead role in projects that span multiple teams, ability to deliver on time working in a fast-paced agile environment
+ Proven track record of developing and supporting large scale business critical systems
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; solid understanding of coding aesthetics, able to review code, and provide suggestions
+ Must be comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
+ Has strong presentation and collaboration skills and can clearly articulate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation
+ Deep subject matter expertise with Individual Markets NSCC/DST applications will be particularly advantageous
**Salary Range:**
$118,980.00 - $195,465.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
