As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsJoin our team of innovators to create next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run.Demonstrate hands-on knowledge in system design, application development, and testing.Solve complex technical issues, develop integration elements, and build data models, APIs, and open 3rd-party SDKs.Implement and adhere to resiliency patterns.Leverage our global network of technologists to tackle big challengesDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceProven experience in application design and development, translating business offerings into technical specifications and articulating business impact.Proficient in Python, Django, and TCP/IP Socket programming, with strong automated testing skills.Solid understanding of Celery and asynchronous APIs for scalable application development.Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and microservices architecture.Experience with Groovy/Java for Jenkins (Jules) scripted pipelines and CI/CD lifecycle management.Expertise in Linux/Unix operating systems, including Bash and Korn shell scripting.Good understanding of RDMS databases and their integration within applications.Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices for lifecycle management.Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Sprint project management and development modes.Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative team-oriented approach. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsWorking knowledge of Domain Driven Design, load balancing, and Behavior Driven Design principles.Basic understanding of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.Familiarity with Kubernetes, GAP, APIGEE, and various cloud services.Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively.
