As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Develops and maintains high-quality, responsive user interfaces using React.Collaborates with designers, back-end developers, business users and product managers to translate requirements into functional and visually appealing interfaces.Ensures the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Writes clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.Conducts code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.Troubleshoots and debugs issues to ensure optimal performance and user experience.Leads a team of front-end developers, setting technical direction and ensuring high-quality deliverables.Mentors and guides junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stays up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in front-end development.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceExperience in front-end development with a strong focus on React.Expertise in CSS and HTML, proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.Strong knowledge of modern front-end build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack).Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and practices and version control systems, as Git.Strong understanding of responsive design principles, cross-device and cross-browser compatibility.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and collaboration skills.Experience working with design systems and component librariesExperience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks and libraries (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).Experience of handling backend API development and inclined towards becoming full stack developerKnowledge of public/private cloud based applications
