As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the AI\ML & Data Platform team, you hold a leadership role in your team, demonstrate strong knowledge across multiple technical domains, and advise others on the technical and business issues facing them. Take lead and conduct resiliency design reviews, break up complex problems into digestible work for other engineers, act as a technical lead for medium to large-sized products, and provide advice and mentoring to other engineers.
Job responsibilities
Coordinates and manages the release process, ensuring that all release activities are executed smoothly and on schedule.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to plan, schedule, and control software releases, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.Oversees the deployment of new releases, ensuring that all changes are thoroughly tested and validated before going live.Leads initiatives to improve the release tooling by automating the manual steps.Lead initiatives to automate the prod tooling to help improve prod monitoring and help reduce toil.Acts as the main point of contact during major incidents for applications, demonstrating the skills to identify the problem area quickly and engage right stakeholders.Liaises issues effectively and deep dives into problems to help identify root causes and solutions where possible
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on SRE concepts and 5+ years applied experienceStrong organizational skills to manage multiple releases simultaneously.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to collaborate across various levels and stakeholder groups.Expertise in site reliability practices, including reliability, scalability, and security.Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python & JavaSkilled in continuous integration and delivery tools like Jenkins and Terraform Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Knowledge of software applications and technical processes with depth in AWS, Kubernetes, and Data Engineering technologies like Spark, Python.Familiar with container and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).Familiar with Apache Iceberg and its integration with data engineering pipelines.Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
