Get to Know the Team

Join the PayCore Settlement team at Grab - a dynamic and team building a reliable platform to address challenging problems in the Payments domain. We are a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and product managers who innovate and collaborate to solve one of the most challenging problems - enabling accurate reconciliation with many financial partners.

Be a reliable backbone in Grab's Payments ecosystem to drive economic empowerment across south-east Asia for all our customers and merchant partners. We're not just another ride-hailing or food delivery platform. As part of Grab, the leading super app, we're also providing financial enablement to our users.

Get to Know the Role

Your primary responsibilities would be to develop the complex backend systems to power our Settlement services to settle millions of merchants.

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager II, Backend. This is an onsite role in Bangalore.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality and scalable software applicationsWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problems in the FinTech domain, especially in PaymentsCollaborate with teams to define, design, and ship new features complying with high software standardsParticipate in code reviews to improve code quality and share knowledge to upskill other team membersTroubleshoot and debug complex issues, providing resolutions and ensuring long-term fixLead to the architectural decisions, technical direction, implementations, and maintenance of the projectsParticipate in On-Call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of our services and achieve operational excellenceProvide support to the SRE or DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our systemsMentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvementStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and capability to recognize when to use them8+ years of relevant experience in software development, with proficiency in one of the major programming languages, e.g., Golang (preferred) and JavaExperience with building web systems around DBMS, Caches, NoSQL and App serversHands-on experience solving concurrency and consistency problems in large-scale systemsHands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)Experience with clean architecture principlesCapability to write extensible code for complex projects and pick the right abstractions that follow SOLID principlesExperience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)Commitment to maintaining a set of software engineering skillsProficiency in writing clean, efficient, maintainable code and documentationsHands-on experience in the Fintech domain, especially PaymentsHands-on experience processing huge volumes of financial data and ensuring consistency, accuracy and efficiency
