Lead Snowflake Administrator

CTG is seeking a Lead Snowflake Administrator for one of our clients.
**Location:** Buffalo, NY (Onsite)
**Duration:** 6 months
**Role Overview**
We’re looking for a Lead Snowflake Administrator to take ownership of our Snowflake data platform and help shape how it’s built, secured, and supported. This is a hands-on leadership role that goes beyond routine administration. You’ll serve as the primary Snowflake expert, working closely with engineering, application teams, and external partners to deliver solutions that scale and perform reliably in production.
**Responsibilities:**
**Snowflake Platform Leadership**
+ Own the administration and overall health of enterprise Snowflake environments
+ Create and configure Snowflake accounts to support evolving business needs
+ Design, implement, and support replication strategies to ensure availability and business continuity
+ Lead the design and support of inbound and outbound data sharing solutions
+ Define and manage role-based access controls to ensure data security and compliance
+ Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance and costs
+ Act as the escalation point for complex Snowflake issues and production support
+ Plan and implement production database changes with minimal disruption
**Linux and Platform Support**
+ Provide first-level Linux administration support for Snowflake application servers
+ Partner with infrastructure teams to improve platform stability and performance
**Cloud and Azure**
+ Apply strong cloud fundamentals in platform design and troubleshooting
+ Build and support Snowflake-related solutions in Azure
+ Work with Private DNS zones, Blob Storage tiers, private endpoints, and Private Link
**DevOps and Automation**
+ Lead infrastructure automation efforts using Terraform and Ansible
+ Promote best practices for code versioning and change management using Git
**Required Qualifications**
+ Proven experience leading Snowflake administration in an enterprise environment
+ Strong understanding of data platform architecture, security, and cost management
+ Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
+ Working knowledge of Linux systems supporting data platforms
+ Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps workflows
+ Comfortable making technical decisions and collaborating across teams
+ Ability to work onsite in Buffalo, NY
+ Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
