Job responsibilities
Demonstrates and champions site reliability culture and practices and exerts technical influence throughout your teamWorks with development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle to ensure sustainable and reliable software releasesLeads initiatives to improve the reliability and stability of your team’s applications and platforms using data-driven analytics to improve service levelsCollaborates with team members to identify comprehensive service level indicators and stakeholders to establish reasonable service level objectives and error budgets with customersManages complex business challenges with elegant, efficient solutions, harnessing the power of code and cloud infrastructure to configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications, driving continuous improvement and scalability.Participates in support responsibilities for coverage of critical applications. Sees problems as opportunities to improveArchitect and implement observability platforms and tools for proactive detection and continuous improvement.Lead the design and development of core observability services, including metrics pipelines and log aggregation.Leverage modern technologies such as Open Telemetry and AI/ML for anomaly detection and automated insights.Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams to define service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring best practices in system design.Champion observability as a first-class concern in the software development lifecycle.Acts as the main point of contact during major incidents for your application and demonstrates the skills to identify and solve issues quickly to avoid financial lossesDocuments and shares knowledge within your organization via internal forums and communities of practice
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experienceDeep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platformFluency in at least one programming language such as (e.g., Python, Java Spring Boot, .Net, etc.)Proficiency and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, SLO alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, etc.)Experience with container and container orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issuesAbility to identify and solve problems related to complex data structures and algorithmsDrive to self-educate and evaluate new technologyAbility to teach new programming languages to team membersAbility to expand and collaborate across different levels and stakeholder groupsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsBTECH /BE Computer Sciences10+ Years Software Architect/Application Development experience with atleast 3 years in SRE CKAD/ AWS certified professionals Preferred.
