**About the Role**
As the **Product Operations Lead for Core Safety**, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of safety across Uber’s platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and tech roadmaps, solving high-impact problems that sit at the intersection of product, operations, and policy. You will ensure that Uber continues to lead the industry in delivering best-in-class safety experiences for riders, drivers, and communities around the world.
This role demands strategic problem-solving, alignment of global cross-functional stakeholders, rapid global product execution, and a bias for impact in a highly complex and regulated environment.
You will lead the success of the Core Safety product area at Uber and directly manage a team of Product Operations Managers to deliver on safety-critical goals. A representative sampling of the responsibilities you and your team will tackle includes:
1. **Align global executive stakeholders** to ensure Core Safety strategies are informed by local context, regulatory insights, and evolving safety expectations; unblock operational, legal, and budget barriers to deliver product and feature launches.
2. **Own go-to-market strategy and execution** for Core Safety product features—delivering scalable safety solutions globally while meeting local compliance and user trust needs.
3. **Translate safety data and user insights** into business priorities for Tech—ensuring the voice of users and regulators is embedded in the product development lifecycle.
4. **Drive program management** across numerous stakeholders—including Legal, Public Policy, Trust & Safety Ops, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, and more—to accelerate product development and unlock global rollout.
5. **Create clarity and alignment** via structured communications and operating models that enable consistent focus on Core Safety objectives and key results.
6. **Optimize product development efficiency** by identifying and resolving bottlenecks that impact velocity, transparency, or operational readiness.
### **About the Role**
As the **Product Operations Lead for Core Safety**, you will be a key strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams in ensuring that Uber builds and ships innovative, reliable, and scalable safety features. This is a mission-critical role that will directly contribute to Uber’s ability to build trust with users and respond with agility to evolving safety challenges globally.
**\-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ----**
1. Drive the success of Core Safety product development and operations at Uber
2. Manage and develop a high-performing team of Product Operations Managers
3. Align global stakeholders around Uber’s safety product roadmap
4. Own go-to-market strategy, timelines, and launch execution for safety-critical products
5. Partner with Tech to prioritize global and local safety insights and requirements
6. Navigate regulatory complexity to ensure successful product launches worldwide
7. Establish strong operational frameworks for product delivery and stakeholder accountability
8. Champion operational excellence and continuous improvement in the product development lifecycle
**\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----**
1. 6+ years of experience in tech, consulting, operations, or product, with a strong preference for Product or Product Ops experience
2. People management experience with a track record of building high-performing and trust-based teams
3. Excellent analytical skills; ability to synthesize data and communicate actionable insights
4. Proven experience leading large, global cross-functional stakeholder teams and launching products at scale
5. Ability to independently drive alignment and influence at all levels of the organization

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$191,000 per year - USD$212,000 per year.
