Overview:

The Transfer Solutions team was created to establish Mastercard as the frontrunner in the fast-evolving real-time payments space and to position Mastercard to be able to incubate the development of new payment flows. The team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the technology that powers Mastercard’s next-generation payment applications – Domestic, Cross Border, and Bill Payments.

Mastercard seeks to define a world beyond cash. To accelerate this mission, we are committed to building & scaling products & applications that transform payments of any type. Real-time payment technology is central to this strategy.
The Role:

What’s it all about and what we expect you to do day to day?

• Responsible for developing inspiring platform/product visions derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends
• Using the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap
• Works with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements
• Collects and shares user stories with engineering teams
• Acts as the voice of the business customer and accountable for the platform services

Responsibilities:
•\tOwns the working backwards document and vision for feature releases.
•\tIdentifies gaps and charters new platform capabilities as required.
•\tMakes use of research, user studies, metrics, and competitive analysis to understand the platform and business needs for a platform product.
•\tCompares features for competitive review to inform prioritization within a platform product release.
•\tIdentifies innovations or performs test and learn experiments to create features that add more business and customer value for a platform product.
•\tParticipates with the business in customer research to inform platform product feature needs.
•\tContributes near-term input (quarterly) for the platform product portfolio and roadmap.
•\tMakes trade-off decisions on platform product features.
•\tUses runtime metrics of their services in market as a feedback loop into the backlog and balances the priorities against new feature requests.
•\tExhibits expertise within platform feature area and coordinates with interdependent teams.
•\tDigests business customer requirements (user stories, use cases) and platform requirements for a platform feature set.
•\tHas visibility into the design of the user experience.
•\tDetermines release goals for the platform and prioritizes assigned features according to business and platform value, adjusting throughout implementation as needed.
•\tContinuously monitors feature development at the feature level.
•\tReviews product demo with the development team against acceptance criteria for the feature set
•\tPrepares launches and monitors platform performances, adoption, and operational health for feature sets
Stays aligned with GTM plans for the feature set.
•\tIdentifies issues that will keep the platform features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicates to leadership.
•\tSupports and participates in post-launch reviews and ensures feedback is reincorporated into the feature.
•\tWorks with internal teams and customer service to identify, classify, and prioritize feature-level customer issues.
•\tDevelops and implements new metrics into measurement techniques; works with development teams to develop reports to monitor them.
•\tIndependently identifies and researches anomalous performance; escalates findings to senior management.
•\tCoordinates internal forums to collect and identify feature-level development opportunities
Owns and manages product documentation; enables self-service support and/or works to reduce overhead.
•\tIdentifies feature risks from business and customer feedback and in-depth analysis of operational performance, shares with senior leadership.
•\tImprove team processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality.
•\tEstablishes a network within the organization and builds internal and external networks.
•\tMentoring team members
•\tAssists with candidate selection and onboarding.

All About You and What you need to bring:

•\t4+ years of product management or new product development and experience shipping high-quality products in the payments industry. Understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases.
•\tExperience in Lean Product management and Lean management principles and practices. Can deliver high-quality technology products/services in a high-growth environment where priorities shift rapidly.
•\tBachelor’s degree
•\tComprehensive experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.), CI/CD, and modern DevOps-based PDLC and SDLC. Technical savviness to enable TDD and BDD.
•\tTrack record of successful delivery of product features from design, development, deployment, and customer integration.
•\tProficient at grooming user stories, features, and epics, setting entrance/exit criteria and prioritizing a platform product backlog.
•\tData driven – ability to define measurable and SMART leading and lagging metrics for all backlog items to enable decisions and priority.
•\tTake the time to fully learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems supporting your platform products. This includes the business requirements and associated use cases, Mastercard customer's experience, Mastercard's back-office systems, the technical stack (application/service architecture), interfaces and associated data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations (i.e., trouble management/associated support strategies), and maintenance.
•\tThrives in a highly collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts globally- across multiple regions. Recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them.
•\tAbility to engage with numerous stakeholders on existing product capabilities and potential co-development opportunities or dependencies.
•\tExperience leading and managing others through both direct manager relationships and through influence.
•\tAction oriented & hands-on: Owns outcomes & deliverables.
•\tExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•\tCreative, fun, self-motivated individual
•\tGlobally distributed teams in India, the EU, and the US. Some travel may be required.
