Lead Product Manager, Grocery & Retail Payments & Merchant Enablement
**About the Role** As a Lead Product Manager on the Grocery & Retail Delivery Experience team, you'll play a key role in transforming Uber delivery into a flawless experience that lets customers get anything they want from local merchants. We must serve the needs of merchants, couriers and customers in order to grow a successful marketplace, fulfilling more orders with higher quality, lower costs, and efficient logistics. In this role, you will define and execute the product strategy to help Uber perfect fulfillment across all of the different verticals we are adding to the platform, while leading your team to build out a suite of tools for merchants to help them optimize their performance, and ensuring we have the right foundations in place for data integrity, compliance, and fraud. You will be working with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders across operations, data science, design, engineering, marketing and more, to deliver a reliable and delightful experience to consumers, shoppers and merchants. **What the Candidate Will Do** The opportunities to evolve the delivery experience for grocery & retail are myriad and we are only just getting started. As a Lead PM, you will have a team focused on three major areas: Merchant Success, Payments & Fraud, and Restricted Item Compliance. This is a representative sampling of the areas you'll be leading your team in: 1. Be a thought leader for ways to ensure merchant success and fulfillment quality on our platform 2. Partner with sales, account management and merchants themselves to determine their pain points and develop tools they can use to understand and grow their business, optimize order quality, and use data to make strategic decisions 3. Enable the sales of Restricted Items, like alcohol and CBD, in a way that complies with laws around the world 4. Ensure our payment processes and money flows are accurate & timely, reducing any fraudulent behavior 5. Collaborate with our regional operations teams to deeply understand the market nuances and pain-points related to fulfillment - and then devising and executing product solutions to solve them 6. Influence the product roadmaps of many other teams across Uber that work to ensure a healthy marketplace **Basic Qualifications** 1. Minimum 10 years experience delivering successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them 2. Technical savviness. Can manifest in different ways: a computer science undergraduate degree, hands-on software engineering experience, or experiences building complex software products side by side with engineers. Technical understanding must go from the highest abstractions down to the smallest details 3. People management experience. You will be directly managing PMs and influencing others who will look to you to set a vision and strategy for complex grocery and retail delivery 4. Attention to detail. The ability to obsess over every single part of the grocery experience - for all sides of the marketplace. Working across different surfaces (mobile, web) and customers (consumers, SMB, enterprise) a plus. 5. Customer obsession. The ability to take on complex product challenges and find elegant, simple solutions to avoid making them our user's and partner's problems 6. Finger-tippiness with data. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis 7. A Driver" mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery 8. A high bar across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on 9. A never-ending desire to grow and learn **Preferred Qualifications** 1. B2B and/or financial products experience. 2. Fulfillment and/or Marketplace experience. You would have directly worked on fulfillment, logistics, delivery or other last mile problems, or have strong knowledge of how marketplaces work 3. Experience building products from 0 to 1 4. Experience in the grocery, retail, CPG or ecommerce industry 5. Experience launching products side-by-side with data science teams For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$216,000 per year - USD$240,000 per year.
