Lead Process Engineer Liquid
**Job Title: Lead Process Engineer** **Location: Wilson, NC** **Pay Range: $90k-$130k** About the Role: As a Lead Process Engineer (Liquid), you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing of liquid and oral solid dosage (OSD) consumer health products. This broad technical management position oversees a small team of Process Engineers and Technologists, providing technical leadership across engineering, manufacturing, and capital projects. You will lead technology transfers, optimize production processes, and manage multimillion-dollar capital projects, ensuring compliance with FDA, cGMP, and EHS standards. This role is essential in supporting capacity expansion, efficiency improvements, and continuous improvement aligned with overall plant objectives. Key Responsibilities + Manage and mentor a small technical team, allocating resources to meet business priorities. + Lead technology transfer from R&D, CMOs, or other sites into production. + Analyze and optimize liquid and OSD processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. + Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and corrective action implementation. + Oversee scale-up and validation of new products, ensuring regulatory and documentation compliance. + Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines in compliance with cGMP, FDA, EHS, and Reckitt standards. + Lead and manage capital projects ($2.5M – $40M), including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. + Manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams for project execution. + Uphold and enforce safety standards for internal teams and external contractors. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. + Ensure compliance across SOPs, batch records, deviation reports, and validation protocols. + Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations for seamless product launches. + Recommend and implement new technologies or equipment to enhance capabilities. Required Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related). + 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, consumer health, or chemical manufacturing (liquids and OSD preferred). + Proven track record managing capital projects ($2.5M–$40M). + Experience in high-volume liquid fill and finish in pharmaceutical or biotech environments. + Strong knowledge of liquid filling operations, medicine packaging, and sterile processes. + In-depth knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical standards. + Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Project. + Demonstrated success in process improvement, equipment validation, and compliance. + Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills. + Ability to manage contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Qualifications + 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in capital project management. + PMP Certification. + Six Sigma Black Belt certification. + Experience in large-scale plant startups, packaging overhauls, and process transfers. + International project management experience and multilingual skills. + Recognized track record in cost savings and efficiency improvements.
