You're Team Impact
The Lead Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end payroll operations for India locations. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing by leading payroll system implementation, vendor management, statutory compliance, and payroll governance. The position plays a critical role in developing payroll policies, maintaining payroll databases, and acting as a subject matter expert for payroll-related matters.
What you'll doPayroll/Accounting – 30%
• To ensure the payroll is processed for all the active employees
• Prepare SOP’s, Control Matrix and FAQ’s
• Manage end-to-end India payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursement.
• Review payroll inputs, calculations, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and full & final settlements.
• Ensure payroll data accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll closure.
• Processing the special payments as per the Global payroll team’s data
• validate pay sheets and related reports
• Involved in employee communication regarding any changes/amendments and new processes, if any
• Basic knowledge of the accounting procedures
Statutory Compliance – 20%
• Ensure compliance with all Indian statutory and labor law requirements, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS, Gratuity, and other applicable regulations.
• Responsible for the office compliance, registrations and renewals like Shops & Establishment Act and other acts
• Review any process changes as per the statutory changes/amendments
• Review compliance audits and responding to the notifications if, any based on the amendments
• Manage the International Workers PF compliance
• Maintain the monthly, biannual and annual trackers as per the statutory acts and laws
• Prepare and review statutory filings, challans, returns, and documentation.
Audits and Inspections – 20%
• Lead and coordinate internal audits, statutory audits, tax audits, and external audits related to payroll.
• Handle inspections and inquiries from statutory authorities (PF, ESI, Labor Department, Income Tax, etc.).
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain audit-ready payroll records and documentation at all times.
• Compliance Audit- Third party vendors of FDS-India
Compensation – 20%
• Preparation of the Bonus calculations, Budgets and IJP compensation proposals
Vendor Compliance – 10%
• Payroll vendor relationship management including monitoring vendor performance against service level agreements (SLAs)
• Promote and reinforce FactSet culture, values, and delivery standards among payroll vendors to ensure alignment in mindset, service quality, and operational execution.
What We're Looking For• 9+ years’ experience in payroll, Labour law, taxation and statutory compliance
• Ability to effectively work with diverse cultures in a global team • Excellent Excel skills
• Hands-on experience in payroll accounting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in managing audits and statutory inspections related to payroll.
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems, ERP, and third-party payroll vendors.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, collaborate to achieve results in matrix environment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a flexible approach.
• Well organized, and eye to minor detail
• Master’s degree required
