Lead Monitor Technician

Responsible for maintaining records and documents of cardiac rhythm for senior staff. Observes and interprets cardiac rhythm of patients. Posts and interprets rhythm strips at regular intervals. Performs lead placement on patients. Maintains medical supplies and equipment's needed to provide patient care.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Monitors the electrocardiograph (EKG) waveform displays in a centralized telemetry monitoring station.
2. Documents changes in rhythm and reports these changes according to established protocol. 
3. Requires thorough knowledge of arrhythmia recognition. 
4. Performs unit secretary functions.
5. Proposes improvements to processes.
6. Acts as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others but is not a supervisor. 
7. Works autonomously within established procedures and practices. 
8. Spends a majority of working time performing the same work processes and activities as employees on team.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
