Lead Maintenance Technician

Job Description Summary

The lead maintenance technician is responsible for general maintenance services. Strengths in HVAC with certifications and a high level of electrical knowledge are desired. Maintenance requirements include: repairs in basic plumbing and carpentry, specialty items such as chillers, generators, and general mechanical maintenance work. This position also requires the ability to assist in the training and direction of other technicians. Experience with industrial maintenance and repairs is a plus.

Job Description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Complete assigned work orders related to facility issues and equipment maintenance promptly and efficiently.

Ensure on-site staff adheres to all safety protocols, local laws, codes, and regulations.

Effectively delegate work responsibilities among team members to optimize productivity.

Lead performance management activities, including goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, and development planning for direct reports.

Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.

Maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment at all times.

Assist other tradespeople and support emergency repair efforts as directed by the company supervisor.

Consistently meet daily operational and maintenance goals.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education & Experience)

Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.

High school diploma or technical school certification required.

At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Proven skills in scheduling and prioritizing both personal and team assignments.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

Capable of pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
