Lead Machinist
Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

This hands-on position involves operating and setting up mill/lathe machines, inspecting and repairing parts, and supporting tool-making needs as required. It’s a great opportunity to grow in a collaborative manufacturing environment while helping ensure production goals are met with precision and efficiency. You will work closely with engineers to build, repair, and maintain high-precision tooling.

ResponsibilitiesWrite, read, and edit programs for mill/lathe machines.Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes and mills.Fit assembled parts and verify conformance to dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, height stands, and dial indicators.Check and repair a variety of machines and tooling to restore working condition.Replace small parts, check fuses, remove broken bolts and dies.Run production parts in Fabrication and other departments when needed.Essential SkillsExperience with CNC Mill programming and machine setup.Proficiency in tool making and inspecting.Familiarity with SolidWorks or CAMWorks.Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for continuous improvement.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with a production or shop environment.Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills with all levels of the company.Ability to use computers and basic programs for documentation.Physical strength and stamina to move parts, boxes, and equipment.Why Work Here

Work Environment

The workplace is a metal fabrication company specializing in tubing, serving as large suppliers to the motorsports industry. It is a newly renovated shop with a clean and organized environment and bright lighting, offering a comfortable setting for work. The hours for this position are 6 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
